Home prices are rising. Here’s what $210,000 will buy you in San Antonio.

While home prices are steadily climbing in San Antonio and beyond, you can still find some homes for $210,000 in the 210 area code.

A single-story home about a block from Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, built in 2003, was listed for sale at that price on Feb. 17. The 1,380 square-foot Rustic Stable home has a large open living area, a spacious kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

There’s also a work shed out back with electricity.

“Pride in ownership shows but especially when you step into the backyard featuring a covered patio, spacious deck and pergola,” according to the listing on the San Antonio Board of Realtors website.

A two-story home on the East Side listed for $210,000 hit the market on Feb. 19. The 1,441-square-foot home was built in 1997 and features three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.

The Express-News recently reported that the median home price climbed to $304,700 last month, a 18.3 percent increase from January 2021 and a 33.7 percent increase from January 2020.

The newspaper also reported that the area’s inventory of available homes slid to 1.2 months from 1.5 months a year prior and 3.3 months two years prior.

Activity usually slows in the winter, and the market is coming off a record-setting 2021, when sales and prices spiked amid low interest rates, limited inventory and people moving to the area or hunting for more space, according to the newspaper.

On the North East Side is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in a small cul-de-sac neighborhood listed for $210,000. The 1,222-square-foot home is on just less than a quarter of an acre and had solar panels installed last year.

It’s also becoming more difficult for prospective buyers with modest budgets to find homes, particularly properties priced under $250,000. Some are postponing plans to buy and staying on the sidelines.

Still, there were several fairly small homes listed for $210,000.
